President and CEO Simion Nick Stirbu founded SD Electric in 1995.  In the winter of 2017, Simion had a vision to entrust his twin sons, David and Ionathan in joining the family business as property managers changing their business name to SDI Electric Group.. Prior to opening his own business Simon worked as an electrical technician for M3 electric.

 

Mr. Simion is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute. Born in Eastern Europe in the country of Romania Simion developed a working mindset from a young age. At age 22, Simion moved to the Chicagoland area and began working as an electrical engineer. As a lifelong resident of the City of Chicago, Mr. Simion takes pride in his city and those who inhabit it.

 

Simion has a wife and 9 children who all reside in Chicago. When not working Simion and his wife Aurica Stirbu work in the community serving the homeless population and serve at multiple group homes and homeless shelters around the city. 

David Stirbu son of Simion Stirbu has worked alongside his father for many years. David is an electrical foreman on site, dealing with day-to-day task management and inventory checks.

 

David has a gift in building connections. He makes sure to stay consistent on the site scheduling meetings with superintendents and onsite owners to handle daily logistics and make sure the client is satisfied. David received his education at Northeastern University where he studied Business Management and HR communications and development and is also a certified ABC Electrician.

 

David oversees all employee issues and assess weekly employee and site reports. David is an asset to the company and an asset on any work- site he works on as well!  David also teaches electrical courses at Associated Builders and Contractors. 

Jonathan Stirbu, twin of David Stirbu, has also been involved in the family business since he was a young teen. Jonathan started as an electrical apprentice and has grown in his role over the years.

 

Jonathan is now an electrical supervisor who specializes in managing workflow, training new apprentices, creating and managing team schedules,evaluating performance and providing feedback and helping resolve employee issues and disputes.  Jonathan has a keen eye for design and strives to make sure his quality of work is done above and beyond the client’s vision.  

Jonathan has also received his masters in Business Management and Marketing and is also ABC certified electrician. Having Jonathan on your site ensures a job well done.  Jonathan also teaches electrical courses at Associated Builders and Contractors.
